Purchased as a heap of parts, this car was completely disassembled for restoration in the early 1980s. Although complete, it needed component restoration and reassembly. As I personally had too many projects going on, I've outsourced the restoration to the Sports Car Shop/Vintage Underground in Eugene, Oregon, who carried out the restoration into concours-level show car for me. Though the car wasn't really rusty, it had a few areas of body damage from past accidents that had to be addressed before it could be painted. The attention to detail that went into this car was really good and I had a lot of control and input in the process with doing my best to make sure that the car comes out as close to perfect as possible. There are a couple of changes we made to this car, but we stayed within the period design as much as possible. The first is that the car was originally the pale yellow that it seems half the British sports cars of the late 1960's and early 1970's were. I think British Leyland must have gotten a deal on the paint. We repainted it Valencia Blue, which is a colour used on a very few of the last TR4As and on TR250s only. Aside from that, the car was not originally an overdrive car, but now has an overdrive gearbox to increase its usability, as I intend to drive the car and enjoy it no matter the level of restoration. The other bonus was turning up an original Surrey top complete with the aluminium center panel. Now that the restoration is done, I'm in the stage of giving the car a shakedown making sure everything is operating as intended and as I'd like it to be. So far, so good.

Beautiful! Love the blue and the Surrey. Well done. Would have likely rated "Perfect" with more pics to see. How about more pics.
