Sarah W's 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8
or to vote for this car or leave a comment

Sold new in Jacksonville, Florida, and purchased from previous owner who lived in Tallahassee, Florida. Older restoration prior to my purchase.

During my ownership, I have installed a new leather interior, carpets, new soft-top, tonneau, stainless exhaust system, new Vredestein tires on new Dayton wire wheels. A rear lowering kit was also installed.

The latest upgrade is a bare metal respray, this time in the correct factory Healey Blue with Old English White coves, while undoing the poor quality shortcuts of the past.

Sarah, you do not provide an e-mail address so I can't contact you directly. I wanted to let you know that I have been the keeper of the BJ8 Registry since 1998, and I have your car in the registry based on the data you entered at healeydata.com and The A-H Experience. The BJ8 Registry is different from the completely passive sites like those in that there is an actual human (me) who receives, evaluates, follows up to correct data when necessary, and uses the database for the benefit of the Healey community in general, and for individual BJ8 owners in particular. I hope you will allow me to provide more information about the registry by contacting me: sbyers@ec.rr.com. I have ownership history for 37066 under three previous owners in Michigan and Florida. Thanks! This commenter wrote this comment for both of my BJ8 Austin-Healeys, even though it has NOTHING to do with the other car. Awhile back, I requested that he remove irrelevant and/or false information about this BJ8, which he refused to do. He seems to think that he has more rights than the actual owners. He runs the healeydata site, and then there is also the XKEData website that also has factually irrelevant and false information about another of my cars. That individual also refused to modify or remove any of that false information. I have tried to remove my information on both sites. You would be wise to NOT enter any information on either of these sites. They don't deserve it, since they clearly abuse the power that they have decided they have!

Have you tried to contact Steve Byers directly? He is quite knowlegeable of what he writes, and it seems he is reaching out, but for whatever reason you prefer to insult him publicly. He saved me some issues on a car I bought a while ago that benifited me the seller and a third party in europe. There were no loosers because Steve Byers overed his assistance.

I have reached out to both individuals running the healedata, com and the xkedata.com sites shortly after those car's purchase, both pages containing false and/or and irrelevant information about 2 of my cars. Neither of them would delete the information I pointed out. I resent this individual sticking his nose into this site as well, writing the same comment relating to this car on two of my car pages. There was no reason to do so. It is so easy for people like you "bob_y" to infer that I am "insulting him", when what I state is TRUE. He has done nothing positive for me, instead trying to get me to be involved in his site, when the cars are already listed. I want nothing more to do with it. By the way, the last sentence should contain "losers" and "offered", not the words you wrote. You also need to look up what the word "insult" means, since stating truths is not "insulting" someone.

Whoa, Sarah!I am Steve Byers, keeper of the BJ8 Registry, and I am NOT in charge of EITHER healeydata.com nor xkedata.com! I have nothing to do with those sites, except to submit corrections to information I see there that is incorrect. If you will read closely my original comment to you of 2017-8-16, I was inviting you to contribute the desired details of your BJ8s to the BJ8 Registry BECAUSE it is different from healeydata (and also ahexp.com). Those sites are completely passive and accept whatever information is provided. There is no one who vets the data to make sure it is correct, or to actually use the information documented to benefit BJ8 owners directly. I do that, and work cooperatively with owners to make sure the information is correct. I now invite you to a private discussion about this stuff, if you're willing.

Sarah, I forgot to add: I do not have a website. The BJ8 Registry is an Excel database that is not on-line at all since it has personal information submitted to it by owners. I do not release personal information to anyone for any purpose EXCEPT to another owner (earlier or later) of the same car if they should ask for any history recorded for their car, or the whereabouts of a car they used to own.If you are referring to the data I added to healeydata.com for the ownership history of 37066, that comes from historical documents that I have acquired, and it is accurate. Note that I did not include any names. The record may not be complete, but that is because I have to rely on owners to complete the record in the absence of historical information. If you had contacted me as I requested in my first comment, we could have discussed all this.
