Registry: 1960 Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite

Purchased from its long-time owner and with a history going back to the late 1960s, my (or technically my wife's Sprite is a very original car, still with drum brakes and 948cc engine. When we bought it, it was in very good shape with no rust at all and no sign of any accident damage at any point in the past. It had also been recently painted and had a new set of very nice tires on it. On the downside, there was also some deferred maintenance, with the worst being a leaking brake/clutch master cylinder that had eaten into the paint of the bulkhead. The car ran and drove pretty well, but had some oil leaks that need addressing and a very loud timing chain rattle.

I've since completely rebuilt the hydraulic system with new components, rewired the whole car with a new harness, reupholstered the seats and installed new interior panels, recovered the dashboard, replaced the fuel level sender in the tank, rebuilt the carburettors, and tuned up the ignition. The next step is rebuilding the suspension and sorting out the oil leaks and timing chain noise.
