In contrast with my wife's absolutely stock Austin Healey Sprite (also a bugeye), this car is a very tastefully updated car with the 1275cc engine mated to a Datsun 5 speed gearbox and front disc brakes, in a well restored body, with alloy wheels. In general, it is a significantly customized car while preserving enough of the original character to keep it enjoyable but make it an amazingly good driver. We purchased the car in its current state but have had to do some work to it to solve a couple of issues of oil consumption and a few other minor problems.
