This Bentley 4 1/4 Litre Sports Saloon has coachwork by Thrupp & Maberly. I purchased this Bentley 4 1/4 Litre with the intent of driving it for long distance touring. It's been thoroughly and expertly restored by the previous owners in the late 1980s and still is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. The car still drives very well, even in modern traffic, despite being nearly 80 years old. When I purchased the car, I flew to Maryland to test drive it and had the opportunity to meet the previous owners who restored the car themselves and talk with them about the car's well documented history and the details of its restoration.
At this point, there really isn't too much to do to the car. I'm exploring options of fitting an overdrive to help preserve the engine while driving on highways and freeways, but otherwise plan to leave the car alone.
