If you're looking at that pickup on Craigslist in Willits, that looks like a total basket case. Every bit of it is rusty. It would cost thousands to resurrect that car. There was a really clean MM pickup on CL in Chico a couple of months ago for $8K or $8.5k. Always glad to see another Morris brought back to life, but I hope you find one that is a good candidate. BTW, there's a nice project MM van on the Dallas CL for $3K.

Thanks, Owen. Yeah, that's the one. I suspected it might be too far gone (or at least requiring major reconstruction), the cowl area looks especially frightening.
It's surprising how solid the upper body looks but so much rust underneath.
Really, a van would be my first choice, years and years ago an auto supply store here used one as a parts runner - just too cool!
Anyway, I thought this pickup warranted consideration as its within driving distance. A long term project would be OK but I'd prefer something that could be driven with a little work and the rest worked out over time - I don't mind being seen in a "beater". This one, unfortunately, doesn't meet that.
Also, as you suggest, it'd probably be cheaper in the long run to pay a little more up front for something in better condition to start with.
I'd love to have that van in Texas but I'm a bit leery of long distance transactions through craigslist.
