Just wondering if anyone has discovered a practical generic/universal trimmable protective floor mats for the Morris or have you had to roll your own. The ones I have had my hands don't quite like the fender arch and the quick curve of the tunnel also. Spent some time walking about the wrecking yard trying to find suitable donor....couple come close, got my eye on them. Thanks...
I've seen better days but they have cost me more money..!

I've only see one specially made from mats and this was after Minors became collectibles. As I recall they didn't go up the toe board much if at all. I have bought a small car sets and put the rear mats in the front and the fronts in the back. The driver doesn't need anything past the pedals.

I like the fact that they are reversible, like twice the life.....one side for daily driving, the other side for when you go to the show/cruise. I would have to trim this also and they are in black only.....I know being picky now right...!! The console will not allow a mat to tuck under the at the back of the console, only room for the carpets to tuck in place. I want to thank all that chimed in with this and found a set in complimenting color that was pictured with dimensions, something you do not see much these days. John look like benefitted from this thread and that is what the forum should be about....posting help. Thanks again.....

Hi BigA,
So that cab looks fantastic.. You say you found some that will do the job, would you be able to share the info or were that a local purchase? I did get some from Amazon that were a rear single floor mat I cut in half.. this was for the daily driver traveller and they did fit well. Not a lot of length which is what I found to be a problem as you mention Big A, so I'm glad you found some that work for you too.. The colour is something that has to look good for sure..

Chris, I found some I have purchased that were listed by dimensions and I am going to TRY to make these work. The biggest factor in my build is the console and trimming to fit there. I gladly will post what I have found if you think you can use them. I found these on e-bay and found a set of beige being sold a few dollars less with a seller with better feedback. These are available in black, gray and beige. In e-bay use this listing number, type it into the search bar...

HI Big A,
Those are very similar to the ones I used in the Traveller.. I got the rear seat 1 piece set and cut the middle out to get the sides for the front seats and because they were already shorter they fit quite well. I do understand about you needing to customize around the console which I'm sure will look fantastic as the rest of your project has as well..
Keep it up and post those pictures if you get a chance as we ALL like pictures..

I guess I will know more when they get here.....if they not useable for the Morris, there are other cars where they could likely be put to use. As you stated you cut the single rear for two front lay ins and they are as you say useable and this set has rears include that are already two pieces....could be those would work. Mainly all I need is a manner to protect the carpet from foot traffic. Stay tuned, the show is not over. Chris, sending you a non related PM but yet about Morris Minor, would appreciate your opinion. Thanks

Barney, the console will not allow stock mat, the console is cut to where the carpet will tuck under, the sliding cup holder built in will not allow the mats to tuck...thus the initial request for trimmable generic units. The color of these at ESM are also not in line with the look I am after. These are the limits with a custom build....I did look at the ESM site when first mentioned above and the ones they offered. My mats came in today but I only opened them to inspect them, the color is great and the initial lay in looks very good, they a bit long but will extend under the seats and the curve of the wheel arch is that of the preformed cut line of the mat. Got high hopes for them and will take a closer look at them this weekend if all goes well. The cargo box lights I ordered also arrived today and they are very nice. Today was a day away from the project, setting mailbox and post, plus cutting down tree at a friend's house and then cutting to lengths along with a little shopping with mums...busy but still counts as a down day.
Thanks, you find anything more on your suspension issue?

Didn't realize you had cup holders. Ya- then the ESM mats look great. Side note: Ms. Gigney, that's my traveler's name. Well I've been driving her to town and general lazy drives.
I'm still breaking in new motor. And she shift real well. When not in use I relax my clutch foot on carpeted wheel arch. I can see that a piece of rubber?? Should be there. Carpet is getting dirt worn. Very interested to see your custom console. My custom job was hanging radio from within headliner, between visors overhead. With a very cheap Chinese Bluetooth radio and speakers down at foot well.
In closing,,, prepping for winter today but tomorrow should get me answers on the suspension. Also I find myself mixing up the car I'm referring to. You and I must be the only two people with a foot in the MM & ADO.
Most excellent mor to come. Thanks
