Making me pull out the books. One style of armrest/door pull was finished at 338014 or 338114 if it's green and then there was style change that was finished at 425537. I think that is the end of Series II or close to it. I am surprised that later passengers had to find something to do with their hand/arms.

Hi Group,
I had to go look at my 1954 4 door and from what I can tell since it is a project car but all original is there is not any arm rests on the panels for my year of car either. I have a 1960 that is FOR SALE that doesn't have rear panels with arm rests either. If you go to ESM Spares site they do show a side panel for the 4 door and it does have a arm rest, so it's a tossup as to what is the real story. I just got out my Ray Newell book and he states that the Series ll had a arm rest door handle combination with a chrome strip running horizontally on the door panel. So this adds a second and historically correct idea of a arm rest and what to do. The Picture in Ray's book looks like the arm rest from a 1950's American sedan the half moon round fat door pull handle combo.
So the story continues.

Hi Tiger,
The condition of the M1000 is real good (my opinion) as far as sheet metal and the exterior metal it is in good condition and straight. This was a car from the Southern part of the West Coast California and Arizona, but no records to confirm this just the last 2 owners word, since I know them I'd say it probably is true. It's got the original paint which was a dove gray I think. The last fella started stripping it with paint stripper around the rain drip rail and the door openings so they have a bit of surface rust along with the engine compartment which is where he started. This is a solid car that still has its original front frame legs and the floor has had a few repairs but overall 1 solid car that I was ready to restore except that I found a 1953 Series ll which bumped this one to the selling block.
I have a 1098 and a rib case tranny for it that are used but definitely good for the project. It has Asian bucket seats but I also have a set of originals available. Trim and such is used but in average condition if it's going to be a driver, I would use it. I'm just looking for a new home for it and a buyer that will continue the project, so any reasonable offer would be considered. Probably a bit far to send it your way cost wise but then you never know.
If anyone is interested I have more pic's, just PM me and we can talk.
