Everything was short in post War Britain.
Raw materials took being
in short supply in turns.
Electricity was in short supply too.
Plating takes electricity.
On the other hand, the car market
in the Colonies was faurly healthy.
Strikes were not in short supply.
We all lived from hand to gob in they days.
Often, hands were pretty empty.
