In case this was not seen on the regular forum.
RE: 5 Speed.
Found this when looking for something else.
UK, last update in January.
Oh, found a price.
Spridget 5 Speed Gearbox Kit
Bolt-in kit to fit a Suzuki 5 speed gearbox to an A-Series Midget or Sprite from £2200.
Midget five speed conversion should work for Morris.

I am playing with a 100E right now. Yes I do have to cut the bell for that. And a ton of flywheel machining. I have not started the Minor or Midget yet. I rebuild the Samurai transmissions. I have 8 in the works now. Since I am flush with the transmissions and have the cars, I thought it natural. Seems I am behind the curve

After taking a minute to actually look at the trans a little more, that is not a Samurai transmission. Hmmph... I guess we'll see how I make out with Samurais. They are very similar. Mike

I am wondering about the output spline on the Samurai transmission. Since the Samurai transmission connects to a transfer case, what yoke fits directly to the transmission?
Will the propeller shaft for a 410/413 fit so that can be modified at the third member end to fit the MM or whatever rear end is fit in the MM?
I notice these on the bay:
Suzuki Samurai SJ410 Drover Sierra Gypsy Driveshaft Propeller Shaft Best Quality

These come out of India and are available in the long one for the front and back output form the transfer case, I presume.
I'm thinking MGB, etc, rear end. Or possibly later Spridget since the bolt pattern is 4 on 4. (Isn't the Spridget rear end too narrow?)
3.9 to 1 final drive should be good match for the ratios on the G13-G16 engines or a 1275 Spridget engine.
The ratios I have seen for these trannies is a 3.592 or 3.657 first with a 0.86 overdrive fifth.
If so, this should work well. I had a preferred Hitachi box that I used in building Datsun 510's. It came out of the last model rear drive Nissan 200SX. It has a 3.592 first and 0.81 fifth gear. I found them perfect for both stock 98 hp L16 through turbocharged cars with over 350 rhp. I also used those trannies in Z's and in re-engine projects into different cars. The transmission gear range is excellent, just use different rear end ratios to match. Similar ratio sets are also in the Tremec TKO 600. Vette 6 speeds are even wider.
I am actually very interested in this for both the re-engine or adapting to a 948cc Minor. If available, probably the 948 first, unless it ends up not costing much more to stuff a Suzuki G engine with a carb manifold in the Minor. In the not much more thought, I am thinking of bang for the buck. It would be nice to have about 60 hp in the Minor. People in DFW like to drive 60 in a 40, so getting run over is a risk on many side roads.

A couple of bumps at the top of the Sammy trans (Detents?) do not make it as easy as hoped but set low enough it clears well in a Morris Minor.
The Sammy trans is also a bit "Deep" top to bottom.
Since Spridgets sit lower and have an integral tunnel that might be more of an issue with them?
