HI, I have had a side valve morris for about a year and enjoy it very much but have become interested with the old tuning parts for the 918 motor. I've since bought a mazengarb head and hoped others would enjoy these pictures of a very rare head.
Mark.

EDIT: Sorry they're all upside down, they weren't before I uploaded them angry smiley

Hi, a few more pics, hopefully they come out the right way up this time. Valve sizes are inlet 29.5 ex 27.7 1.5 to 1 rocker ratio. this gives 9 mm valve lift with standard cam. valve springs replaced with larger ones.

Nice looking head ! Interesting conversion. So what happens with the valves in the block? how does this valved head seal against the block ?

It appears that the valves are replaced by push rods. Could use the original head gasket but filled in where the side valves had been since the push rods are now passing through.

Hi, yes the push rods go down the old valve guides and originally these were 5mm sitting in dimpled follower adjusting bolts . I'll be using 6 mm rod's cupped at each end fitting in balled adjusting screws, as the original setup tended to flex at high revs. The old ports on the s.v engine are covered up with a piece of flat bar. A new head gasket is made from copper sheet to suit the new combustion chamber shape.
