I took a piece of thin wall tube
the internal circumference to which
was slightly larger than the ext cir of the stay.

Squashed it on a former until it
was a sliding fit on the works stay.

Ground one end of the flat tube into an arc.
Drilled the centre of the arc.

Drilled hole in the flattened tube to match the hole in the works strap

Drilled the flat tube at a suitable distance away from the first hole.
The suitable distance being how far I wished to extend the stay.

Took the top pivot out of the works stay.
Slid the flat tube onto the top of the works stay

Hung the flat tube off the orginal works stay.

A pit pin holds the bonnet in either position.

After the first couple of bumps you become conditioned and inherently avoid the corner of the bonnet.

Problem was I had the right side jacked up about 18" and then decided to do a couple things on the left.

I put one on on my Maggie last winter, really nice. Simple design, there if you need it. The back of my head thanks me...
