My first ever car was a Moggy Traveller, my second an MG Midget. I somehow hung on to the second car and at the end of November I was lucky enough to pick up another a lovely Moggy from Stoke in Northern England. Anyway faced with a 240 mile trip in an old car, in unknown weather conditions, what could I do but enjoy the adventure. I've condensed my adventures into a short video and intend posting further adventures,

I hope other will also post photos and videos of good dives they've enjoyed.

So Mike as you are from Staffordshire do you know this lovely Moggy getaway car?
He's known as Maurice around the Potteries and belonged to Geoff & Margret O (a well loved couple in the MMOC).

No problem Mike,

Just coinsidence you are from thr same area, where it seemed to be well known. Pleased in a way as I was starting to think that the classic car world was very small, as I went to a car club meeting just before Christmas and Moggy owner said to me, 'You haven't bought Geoff's car have you?'. Seems that the Morris Minor Owners Club has eyes everywhere and I wasn't even at one of their meetings!

All the best and have a great New Year Johnny

Having suffered gales and a blocked road last week, followed by high this week, keeping the Moggy garage bound, Thursday turned into a beauty. Sun calm and the Moggy got a good run in about 70 miles, over to the North Norfolk coast, then east towards Gt Yarmouth and then through the Norfolk Broads.

All the best Johnny

I hasten to point out
that Norfolk Broads
are not ladies of easy virtue.

They are, quite simply,
broad stretches of river.

Hi,
Well it's been nearly a year since I posted on this forum and 14 months since I took ownership or is it guardianship of Boris the Morris. An awful lot seems to have happened in this relatively short space of time, Boris has had many slight changes and more importantly has driven many a mile. I feel a kindred spirit with Geoff and Margret the previous owners who used Maurice (as they called Boris) to the full. Though my engineering skills could never match Geoff's, whose work on the 1098cc engine, out performs my same engined Midget with my newly rebuilt twin carburettors every time (and yes they are balanced and the engine compression is great).

When I first got the car my must do jobs were front disc brakes and replace the dynamo with an alternator. The brakes are now firmly on the back boiler and the alternator was only fitted the week leading up to last Christmas 2018. Lots of work has been done, refurbished woodwork, all round seatbelts, ungraded headlights, more comfortable seats (Ford Ka), new water pump, thermostat housing and new studs and of course the usual routine maintenance, just seems that my priorities changed and in the case of the brakes I find them pretty good (so long as I check clean and adjust every so often).

As for the driving that's whenever possible and I have The MMOC Minors on Tour trip to Belgium in late May book. I will be taking the opportunity to meet up with my now friend and fellow Traveller owner Laurent in Lille on my way to Bertrix in Belgium. Would be great to do his Sunday Drivers but it's a 280 mile round trip the day after we arrive so we will have to play that one by ear.

Thought I would post a kind of photo diary of the last 14 months on here. It was going to be in 8 pictures, but with the hundreds of shots to choose from it's going to have to be about 3 lots of 8, so I will post in chronological order over the next couple of days or so.

All the best Johnnysmileys with beer

Quite right a lot to be said for asbestos then again I've lost the odd work mate to it.

Having readied to do the 600 odd miles from Norwich to Inverness and beyond in the beautiful Scottish Highlands, we set off to god's county of Yorkshire first in early August 2018.
