hi,
I am having trouble making the prop shaft fit into the gearbox splined shaft.
It just goes in about 20 mm and there is a solid metal clunk sound, as it touches the shaft end.
I have filed the spline ends in the prop to remove any burs, but still wont go in.
Is this a common problem?
I have another ribbed gearbox and tried to fit it on that one, but no go, same result...drinking smiley

Sounds like you are hitting the bushing in the tailshaft of the gearbox. Since same result with two boxes, focus on the drive shaft diameter.
