My quest..
Just lost out on an EBay auction, traveller

Wanting to buy a traveller, in the states, due to the high cost to ship from UK
Please help me find one that at least can be brought back to life

Do you have a preference for the location of a traveller for sale? There are a couple in the LA area on Craig's List.

Whoops... I've just changed the new account registration process to require a location in addition to country to clear up these sorts of questions grinning smiley

Considering the price of a traveler in the USA you may come out cheaper from the UK.
The big problem is find one that is not a rust bucket. If you got a Charles Ware car that he restored it may be the way to go. Shipping is not that bad for ro/ro - do a little research. The best way is to fly there - buy the car and register it over there in your name. That way you avoid the taxes at customs. If you can find an exporter that has room in a container it will run about $800. The morris_motors group on yahoo has them come up ever so often.

There were 3 of them for sale in the last issue. http://morrisminor.intuitwebsites.com/

We have to sell our beloved "Woodrow",our 1969 Morris Traveller. We loved Morris' and have owned 8? in my 34 years together. My hubby worked his way through college, at a British car dealership, as a mechanic. Bruce even became part of the regional Datsun factory sponsored race team, as a college student. We are both engineers, and he drove his '64 Lotus super 7, as regular transportation for 8 years. (which speaks to how good a mechanic he is.)

Woodrow is white, which is his original colour, black interior. We replaced the front seats with much more comfortable high-back bucket seats, but still have the originals. Long list of mechanical work done recently. We live in Portland, Oregon and last July to the Bellevue, Washington All British Field Meet, where we represented our Pacific Northwest Morris club, as Morris was the featured marque. We had 45 Morris' in attendance including those for sale, and continued driving to Vancouver, B. C. a round trip of 1,000 miles with zero problems. This next summer we will attend the Vancouver, B.C. where the Morris will be featured again.

Anyone looking to purchase a Morris should contact the Morris clubs, and Hemmings Motor News, for cars in the U.S. for sale. Anyone can write us at Bruinswood@aol.com for particulars about our cars, or for help with anything about our favorite car. OUR '39 Austin 8, will need a new home soon too. We need more garage space, for collecting!

Networking through the clubs, we can put you in touch about events, members who keep up on good spare parts, and articles. It's more fun to work on cars together.
