Good Afternoon all.

Does anyone know much about this little bugger ?

I gather that it is only supposed to be for the Turnsignals but all my outside lights are dimmed to about 50% when it is installed.
And no brake lights.

I removed it to clean the contacts and the lights are 100% bright, though still no Brake Lights.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

What 'little bugger' would that be Mark? There is no picture with your post so we don't know what you are referring to!

Sorry. I put it in the Subject Line and then forgot to put it in the body.

This is a small box afixed to the right side innercowl of the truck.

It has 8 wires attached by screw terminals and is very near the flasher unit.

This is a 1960 Morris Minor Pick Up.

Thanks

Have you check a wiring diagram to make sure it's wired properly?

The link above has the Morris Minor manual in PDF which you can scroll through. There are many different wiring diagrams. The switch for the brake lights is on top of the hydraulic brake line connector which is in the lower front on one side of the radiator. Two wires on it. Could also be a fuse is blown. Hopes this helps.

Hi All.

You were right pixelsmithusa. The previous owner had buggered up the wiring. I've gone to the wireing diagram on the link bufferzone provided and corrected the problem but am still fightig with the brakelights.

Thanks to all for your help.

Then the next thing I would do is make sure the pressure switch is working properly as well as the wires to it. It's a very easy test. Connect the two wires together. That should give you brake lights, If not, check that one has power (solid green wire). If it does, Check across the switch with an ohmmeter for continuity while you have someone press the pedal. If you have power AND continuity through the switch, you'll know you problem is downstream from the other wire. It's all a process of elimination at this point.
