Can anyone help me with the colour of the kicking plates. I am busy restoring a 1960 4dr and would like to know what the colour of these kicking plates must be? Are they painted the same colour as the car or should they be painted silver?

Thanks

On my 67 they are silver. Just my opinion, but I think the silver would look better than painting it the same color as the car. Cheers!!smileys with beer

They should be the same colour as the car. They also look good in silver but why not go for the stainless steel ones?

I would love stainless steel, but they are not available locally and to buy and then still ship it here will cost to much.

Ah, I forgot about postage costs! I'd go for painting them silver then. I had silver in the past and they do look good.

According to the best information I can find (Skilleter, Newell) they should be silver coloured. The earliest ones were aluminum, unpainted. A previous owner painted them body colour on my '67 and I'm about to change that. They really look wrong in body colour.

Mine were likewise painted silver. At least that is the last color layer under the other colors.
