I have recently bought a 71 Traveller and am in the process of restoring it the first problem I have come up against is trying to determine the thread type on the starting dog at the end of the crankshaft as the original one was stripped, I bought a new part but the threads don't seem to match up and as I have to tap out the end of the crankshaft due to damaged threads in the end of the crank before I attempt to replace the starting dog. I have
determined that the thread is is 5/8 but what I can't determine is how many threads per inch it should be, if anyone out there can help me I will be eternally grateful.
