Just got my newly recovered front seats back and they look great. The question I have is that when I bolted them down in the factory position I have lost a lot of leg room. The car had non originals to start with. Anyone experimented with different mountings? The way the floor slopes to the back may be a challenge.

Hi Donnie

Below is a cut & paste form the workshop manual. I don't know if it applies to your car (you haven't mentioned what year your Morris is). but I think most have a series of holes for changing the position of the front seats.

Front seats
Each front seat pivots about the forward support and
may be raised to allow passengers to reach the rear seats.
On later models the squab of the seat is also hinged. The
position of the driving seat may be adjusted forwards or
backwards when the spring-loaded lever that extends
beyond the front of the seat is depressed.
If the normal range of adjustment is not capable of
providing comfort for drivers of exceptional stature the
seat can be repositioned by moving the seat hinge bracket
into the required position on the floor of the car.

I have a 67 Minor 2 door. Even with the adjustment in the back position I'm still cramped. Looks if I need to reposition the mounting bracket several inches rearward.
