Hello., my morry still has its original tempremental engine. I'm thinking to change it to a newer version to get through registration easier and fill up with unleaded fuel. However, will this reduce the value of my baby. I hope someone has advice for me on my best options. Kind regards,

Hi,
If your engine is being temperamental it has something wrong with it - when they are OK they are bombproof & run like a sewing machine
It could be as simple as carb adjustment or cleaning the plugs?
I would get it looked at before I went for something major, like a new engine or a fuel injection, conversion - which to be honest I've never heard of?
Unleaded conversion is a bit of a job because the head has to come off & be modified, in UK this is usually a part exchange deal, they keep the old one & you get a discount on the modified one?

Best look up info on EFI minis. Th elast few years of production, the a-series was equipped with EFI so there is some info out there.

Additionally, Lucas fuel injection systems were developed for use with 8 port heads for the lemas sprites. That may be too exotic for your taste as the required parts are rarer than hens teeth, but perhaps if you really knew what you were doing you could adapt some parts from a similar set up found on some contemporary maseratis.
