Hi All,
I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Zach and I live in Bermuda, and own a 1969 Morris Minor 4 door, of which I am the third owner. I started the restoration 19 years ago; life caught up with me with kids etc, and now just only getting back to it in the past week. It was the last Morris Minor sold by the local dealers, and has the original 35k miles on the speedo.

I have tried to keep it looking original, although 19 years ago I put a Merlin Chassis kit on it by Chris Street out of Somerset UK, but kept the motor pretty standard in looks. The color is the original snow berry white and so I am putting an effort to get it complete by the summer this year.

Charley,
sorry for the delayed response....i have been away on holiday and just back now. yes the snowberry is a lovely color. The paint shop guy was excited that I asked him to create the color for me, as it reminded him of is old car with the same color. I changes to those subtle colors in different lighting conditions. I often got the remarks for people who saw the car.

I like convertible in the snowberry....not any of those surviving anymore in Bermuda....the last a friend owned and he sent it to the dump before I got a chance to save her. We have a one-car-one-house-hold rule here....so to get a new car you had to get the old one cut up, or wait a year before buying a new car. So hence much of our old car scene was lost as a result. In fact there are not more than 20 old cars surviving to this day. It sort of reminds me of the UK law of sorts that was recently implemented.....if the FIVA and the likes don't get on it; the cars of today will be lost.

Hello Zach
I have just returned to the UK from my 14th visit to Bermuda.
I am a big fan of Minors having learnt to drive in a 1955 split screen Minor in 1969. I own a 1969 two door saloon and a 1971 van.
I would like to write an article on Morris Minors in Bermuda for the MMOC magazine in the UK. I have pictures of several Minors in BDA but I don't think I have any of yours. Could you send me some scans and details of your car to my address ?

Change the (at) to @.
I always chat to Paul Martins when I go to BDA, he is a true fan and drives that fantastic orange van for his business, Martins Precision Automotive. Do you know him?
I would be very happy to chat about Bermuda Minors by email. Any idea how many were imported to BDA?
Best regards

Tom,
sorry for the delayed response; things have been a bit crazy here. Anyhow, I will drop you a line via email; but glad to hear from someone who has been here.

regards,

Zach
