If it's not smoking bad it probably just needs a valve job.

The car has 98k miles showing ,so the valve way be tired.
I tried the Miracle oil in through the spark plug ports on a cold engine. And let the juice still in block for a few days and turned the motor over a few times to splash it around. After about a week, I reconnected the coil lead and started it up. We had some 2 stoke smoke for about a hour. A bad lawnboymower day that was.

I've changed the oil and filter incase there was blow by that would have fouled the oil.
So now there is hardly any smoking, but there's still a 'miss'. Therefore valve job sound like a plan of action. Maybe I'll get the seats for the unleaded fuel at the same time.
Or go big buck for a1275 motor(dream big for a little car)

Compression only tells part of the story.

That number four has a problem at 70.
.
If you really want to see where the problem is do a leek down on the motor.

Craig,
The leak down test was the plan for tonight's activity except the weather is not cooperating, So now I'll have something to look forward to this weekend.
Depending the test outcome, I'll have to make a judgement call whether to repair/replace or convert to different a drivetrain.

Here's hoping

The PO had a set of funky titanium, triple tipped plugs in there. When I did the compression test last month, I looked them over and they are spotless..

Can't beat that ..
